Branford, CT Engagement Session of Jenna & Lee : CT Engagement Photographer

It's time to kick off my blogging blitz with a bang!

I'm so excited to share Jenna and Lee's engagement session with you. They are such a fun and beautiful couple, and I can't wait for their wedding in September. Let me introduce you to the happy couple, as well as give you a sneak peek into their engagement session in Branford, CT.

Jenna and Lee have this great balance between being fun and romantic at the same time, which is always a great combination for photos! When they first contacted me about photographing their wedding, I knew right away that we'd be a perfect match. Their wedding will take place at the New Haven Lawn Club where there is the perfect mix of formal and laid back vibes, which will make it an amazing day for them (and me!).

We had so much fun during their engagement session along the Trolley Trail in Stoney Creek, Branford. The warm, summer sun was sinking into that buttery light that I love.

Jenna and Lee are such an awesome couple who clearly love each other deeply - something that shone through in every single photo we took together! If this shoot is any indication of what their wedding is going to be like then it's going to be one unforgettable day!

Enjoy a small peek into our time together!

Branford, CT Engagement Session of Ania & Dick : CT Engagement Photographer

Cheers to all those who had so much fun at their first wedding that they want to recommit to the love of their life two years later!

Ania and Dick had a very special ceremony during Covid and now want to celebrate "properly" with their family and friends with a renewal of their commitment to each other. I am thrilled that I will get to be a part of it!

We had their "engagement/getting to know you" session recently. Wow! these two are great to photograph and even better to sit and have wine with :) I could have stayed and talked to them for hours. How fortunate that they live right around the corner from me and I will get to see them again and again.

Ania and Dick, I can't wait for your wedding this week-end! Cheers to the most beautiful day for the most beautiful couple! xoxo

Westport, CT Engagement Session of Heather & Tom : CT Engagement Photographer

Heather and Tom are getting married next week and I CAN'T WAIT! To say these two are incredible to photograph is an understatement - they are a dream. We had their engagement session at Compo Beach in Westport in a little area tucked away from everyone. I loved the fact that they could be themselves, silly, loving, care-free, without a hundred eyes on them. We can save that for the wedding day! haha.

I can't stress enough how important this session is to do prior to the wedding day, for both the couple and the photographer. I always tell my couples that the engagement session will not only help them feel more comfortable in front of the camera (with a little coaching from yours truly) but it will also help build a relationship with me so that when we go into the wedding day, we are already friends.

Oh Heather and Tom, we are definitely friends! I can't wait to see you two again very soon! We are going to have a blast!
xoxo

Madison, CT Engagement Session of Danielle & Sean : CT Engagement Photographer

Lighting makes all the difference. For anyone that hasn't heard me say it yet, photographing an hour before sunset is the best! Danielle and Sean made the scene and the light look even better. We met at Hammonasset State Park at the best light during a beautiful fall day. We had this little slice of heaven all to ourselves.

It's such a bonus to be the only ones at a location so the couple can feel more relaxed. Since we were meeting for the first time, making sure that Danielle and Sean felt relaxed was super important to me. I completely understand that it's tough to freely express affection and emotion outside the home at any time, but especially when a stranger is standing there with a camera pointed at you! yikes! I get it. I honestly do my very best to make everyone feel at ease and comfortable. Even if it means pulling out a few of my dumb jokes.

Everyone should feel at home. They should be able to have fun. They should feel confident.

Danielle and Sean nailed all of it! They were incredible to photograph and they were even better to hang out with!

Thank you both for letting me photograph this moment in your history together. It was a joy for me!

Branford, CT Engagement Session of Emily & Matt : CT Engagement Photographer

When I think back to this session with Matt and Emily, I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful that they shared themselves with me during their engagement session and wedding. I am grateful that they found the strength and courage to get married during this crazy pandemic year, and share their joy with those closest to them. I am grateful for this job that lets me get to know such kind and generous people as Emily and Matt.

Although it's been such a difficult year for weddings, it has been a surprisingly incredible gift for a lot of couples to be rid of the pressure of the "perfect" wedding. Sometimes in life, we hold so tightly to the things we think will make us happy. When intense changes come at us (like a pandemic) we may fear that "perfect" day is lost. Instead, it may just be that an even greater gift is found. A more stunning, rich, and fulfilling day takes place in so many unexpected ways. That is exactly what I witnessed on Emily and Matt's wedding day. It was perfect in it's simplicity.

Thank you Matt and Emily for letting me be a part of your beautiful engagement session and wedding. You are two of the kindest people and I wish you all the best! xoxo
